Football coach Troy Calhoun’s comments comparing the BCS to the “old Soviet Presidium” continue to get national headlines.
Ray Ratto of the San Francisco Chronicle and CBSSports.com used them as a jumping off point for this column.

the author obviously has never talked to Coach Calhoun and has no idea of what kind of person Coach Calhoun really is.
TC made the same statement in two separate meetings to the classes of ‘09 and ‘10 last year… this wasn’t some “going overboard” or “off the cuff” statement… it’s a serious issue that he has given a lot of thought.
Giving press to Air Force and Troy Calhoun around the nation and in San Francisco is good, and the writer did seem to appreciate Troy’s intellectual ability to frame his argument using historical references.
