So what do people think?

I understand black isn’t one of the school colors, but I think it helps the numbers and letters “pop” a little bit. As someone who is trying to read numbers from the press box, I’m all for these.

While not a traditional school color, have no problem with the black as it does appear to make the numbers easier to read. My one issue as has been the past couple years is I wish they would make the front “Air Force” lettering a bit larger — used to be that way –not sure if the Nike/Squadron Patch/Conference Patch is limiting that but it just seems very small in comparison to the rest of the uniform; Otherwise like the look of it!

I like it at first glance, pants are very similar to those in the past that had the ‘bolt’ on it. Go Falcons

  • Ben says:

I have got to get one of these!! They are very cool, and I think it’ll help everyone read numbers a little easier. Just curious, but why has Air Force changed their uniforms so much over the past 3 years? I really liked the solid colors (blue jersey and blue pants for home, white jersey and white pants for away games) back in 2007, and of course the ones we had this past year. Just wondering.

Is any silver involved? And I think changing uniforms so frequently is a sign of a program without an identity. We should pick one and stick with it.

  • Evan says:

Not a fan, I agree with mark there’s a reason the powers don’t change their unis. The black makes them look high schoolish. We should have old school unis like army and navy (with the exception of those clown costumes they rolled out at the end of the year).

Like the numbers and Shoulder Bolt….Hate the Bolt on the pants…and the little Air Force. I would love to see the official Air Force logo incorporated in someway on the uniform….The Bolts are cool but 6 is a little overkill.

  • Scott says:

Everything about the new uniform looks great. GO FALCONS!!!

  • tbang says:

the official af logo will be incorporated on the uniform in a patch, i believe. I don’t mind these uniforms one bit. The numbers are much easier to read, they’re modern, and they look sharp. I hope we stick with these for a few years, though. I agree that much of a team’s identity is in its uniform…

  • Chicago Zoomie says:

Too busy looking for my tatste-I liked the simpler, cleaner look of the earlier uniforms.
The pace of the alterations is consistent with the numerous, and mostly frivilous, changes in policy at the Academy, though; perhaps the AD is trying to keep up with the Comm and Supe in making change for change’s sake.

not a fan. i hate how big of a fad adding black to a uni has become. everyone is doing it and im not going to be surprised when calhoun brings out the black alternate jersey. he already has all the coaches in it all the time. stick with your colors, he has pretty much replaced silver. just terrible. i was a huge fan of the silver numbers and pants.

  • Al says:

Air Force has always had a classy uniform….to include the helmet with the lightning bolts…fell in love with it way back in 58 first time I saw it. They need to however go back to the double blue stripe and silver insert which the Fish I believe incorporated….now schedule CU to make things comlete.

  • cs09viking says:

sorry guys but i am sick of this fickle uniform decision-making. stick with one and dont change anymore. btw, i dont like this uni either.

this has to be like 4 different unis in 5 years, right?

  • Zoomie says:

Website still shows AF official colors as Blue and Silver – yet no silver anywhere. Looks more like a BYU uniform to me = not good…

  • Ever notice how Calhoun always wears black polo’s and hats? He pushed for a black jersey, but got shot down by higher ups. I can handle these, but I definitely prefer the look we’ve had the past couple years.

  • Get fireplaces T great prices…
