BYU Assistant Coach, Player Reprimanded by MWC for Comments about Falcons

November 23rd, 2009, 4:46 pm · 1 Comment · posted by

The Mountain West Conference issued public reprimands to BYU assistant coach Barry Lamb and Cougars defensive end Jan Jorgensen today for comments critical of Air Force that appeared in this article in the Provo Daily Herald on Nov. 19. The comments were in violation of an MWC sportsmanship rule.

Jorgensen, talking about Air Force’s blocking, called it “legal but dirty.” And Lamb said, among other things, that Air Force uses illegal chop blocks “a half-dozen, a dozen, maybe 15 times a game. But as long as the officials don’t’ call it, it’s legal.”

BYU coach Lamb is just plain ignorant. Jan Jogensen was just following his lead. Bronco cleaned up a lot of their program. There were multiple players arrested for assault, and steroids allegations from a former player. I’m surprised Lamb is still there. Oh well.
