Here’s a link to a pretty good preview of Air Force by the Pre-Snap Read college football blog (which is previewing every team in reverse order all the way to No. 1).
They made a mistake saying the Falcons haven’t finished top three of the Mountain West Conference under Calhoun (they did, in 2007). But it’s a good preview. And I appreciated the shout-out.
If given a chance this year, Darius Jones will light up the field! If not this year, then next. But he will prove to be an exceptional running back for the Falcons.
Jones looked very good in the spring. Arguably was the Falcons’ second best tailback behind Asher Clark in those practices.
And I do think he’ll see the field. Air Force uses the tailback spot so much that there are plenty of carries to go around. Look at 07 when Chad Hall, Jim Ollis and Kip McCarthy all put together 100-yard rushing performances and Chad Smith and Savier Stephens chipped in too.
