Wofford played late Sunday afternoon in Charleston, S.C., about three-and-a-half hours off its campus. The Terriers played in overtime and scored a really nice win against a tough George Mason team.
A little more than 48 hours before Wofford’s next game against Air Force, coach Mike Young was not in much of a place to give a scouting report on the Falcons.
“It’s a quick turnaround,” Young said. “We don’t know a lot about them yet. Between now and Wednesday we’ll know as much about them as humanly possible.”
Young said playing Georgetown last Friday will help, because seeing a Princeton-style offense won’t be completely new to the Terriers.
“Our game against Georgetown will help us greatly,” Young said.
Wofford is a quality opponent for the Falcons. The Terriers made the NCAA Tournament last year and almost beat Wisconsin in the first round. Air Force is coming off a solid win at home Saturday against Tennessee State.
Good thing they are preparing for the Princeton Style offense because USAFA no longer runs it! John Thompson worked under Pete Carril at Princeton.
