Sorry the report is a bit late, couldn’t stop reading Yahoo’s incredible report on Miami football and its renegade booster. Wow. Anyway, onto Air Force football today …

- Haven’t said a lot about Tim Jefferson, because here’s what I’d say: Jefferson was really good last year, and he’s really good in camp this year. There’s just not much analysis; he’s exactly what you’d think he’d be as a fourth-year starter in camp. He threw some great passes today, he was really sharp. He’s ready. However …

- The play of the day was a Jefferson interception. On the first play of an 11-on-11 drill, linebacker Jordan Waiwaiole stepped in front of a pass and took the interception in for a touchdown. Waiwaiole is a player Air Force needs to emerge as a start this season.

- Erik Soderberg is in a battle with Parker Herrington for the placekicker job, and he didn’t do himself any favors by missing wide right in an 11-on-11 drill when he was called upon to kick a field goal. Herrington got the first kick of that drill (showing he probably has a slight lead over Soderberg) and he hit his attempt.

Miami should get the Death penalty. Of course, if Big BCS schools started getting hit with real sanctions, they might all leave the NCAA and form a new association.

Nose guards – Gardner is a heck of a player, I think he’s going to have a good year. There are a couple juniors behind him who have at least been around the program and are mature – Cody Miller and Nick DeJulio.
