The Falcons will be without backup tailback Darius Jones for about a month with a mid-foot sprain, Air Force coach Troy Calhoun said. Calhoun said Jones might return by mid-November.
“Cody Getz and Anthony LaCoste are two guys that’ll have to get in there and help us a bit, which they can,” Calhoun said.
The good news for the Falcons is tight end Josh Freeman, who suffered a shoulder injury at Notre Dame, has not been ruled out of Thursday’s game against San Diego State.
“It’s a stretch, but it’s possible,” Calhoun said.
The Falcons will monitor defensive end Ben Kopacka, who has a shoulder injury and didn’t play against Notre Dame. Outside linebacker Patrick Hennessey will likely continue to be a role player for the foreseeable future, Calhoun said, as he
continues to be limited with a broken thumb.
What about Jon Lee?!!
Is Calhoun going to slow down the offense to try and help the Defense with increased time of possession?
Air Force held the ball 32:26 to Notre Dame’s 27:34, thus winning the mythical time of possession and losing the game. Keep the offense rolling without mistakes and ask the defense to make a stop every now and then, imho.
afafan, I’m with you on Jon Lee. I think he should be No. 2 right now.
