Maybe it’s dangerous to make sweeping comments about Air Force based off just one game, albeit an impressive road win at Boise State.
This was a pretty impressive victory, however. Air Force, which went three years between conference road wins, snapping that streak last year at TCU, had plenty of chances to let Boise State storm back in the game. In the past, that may have happened.
This seems to be a more mature Air Force team, even though there is just one senior. The Falcons never panicked when Boise State went on a run.
“It’s just us growing as players, and maturing,” center Taylor Broekhuis said. “The crowd was into it, and when it turned, we knew we had to get it back.”
The way Air Force stayed poised at Boise State should be a good sign for the future.
“I think we’ve learned from our mistakes in past years, and upperclassmen have seen where our leads have dwindled at the end of the game and where we’ve been in positions to win, we’ve let it slip,” senior Taylor Stewart said. “Give credit to the team and coaches we’ve been resilient, and we battled through.”
An outstanding product of D1 basketball was on display by Reynolds and these Cadets. EVERYONE stepped up against Boise St, as the AF perimeter shooting and defense was according to how you draw this up in the game plan. You cannot ask for more from this newly assembled team of athletic basketball talents- each and every player was doing their job on the floor. I hope Wednesday night this Community can take the time and come out to see our fine young players in the Conference opener against Wyoming. We need to fill Clune Arena.
.
…what do you say folks. Hope to see you there!
Great road win for our Falcons. This team played ‘as a team’ for this win. It is only one win and against a very young team…but up to last night Boise St had won 15 in a row at home. Proud to see the upperclassmen starters lead this team with all in double figures scoring and Taylor Broekhuis with a double-double. I agree FPC…hope the folks (AND CADETS) come out to support this team on Wed night (an EARLY tipoff at 6pm…hope folks remember that).

Come on fans, let’s get out and support our basketball Falcons! More than worth the price of admission. Let’s fill Clune Arena. and from General Gould down to the lowest ranked cadet, cadre, and civilain, be at the game; roudy, loud, and “on your feet Air Force Fans.”
When we play such a weak preseason schedule its kinda hard to judge just what kind of team we have…but I think we can be pretty sure they aren’t going to suck. The Falcons will have a legit shot at a win at every home game – especially if the fans/cadets come out. Clune can really rock.
