Sean Carley, whose 3.94 earned-run average last year was the best for an Air Force pitcher since 1983, won’t pitch this year because of an arm injury, an academy spokesman said.
Carley hurt himself in practice last week. The spokesman said he might need Tommy John surgery to repair his elbow. Carley, a junior, was a second-team all-Mountain West pick last year.
That stinks! I really feel for this young man – hopefully he’ll be able to have a full recovery and continue his time as a cadet and officer in the Air Force. Carley was set to have a great year on the diamond.
