Custons won’t play in Air Force’s important baseball series vs. UNLV

Air Force faces a big series this weekend at UNLV, but will be without star catcher Garrett Custons.

Custons, Air Force’s best hitter with a .346 batting average, four home runs and 30 runs batted in, was injured while catching against TCU last weekend. He was hit by a foul tip. Air Force’s goal this season has been to make the Mountain West tournament, and to do so it would have to finish above last place. Currently the Falcons have a one-game lead on UNLV, which is in last place.

The good news for Air Force is first baseman Seth Kline, who suffered a broken jaw against San Diego State a few weeks ago, is back in the middle of the Falcons’ lineup.
