Troy Calhoun’s ban on players talking to the media lasted only one day. Air Force announced that starting after practice today, normal media availability will be restored. On Monday, Air Force said its players were off limits to the media indefinitely due to a scheduling conflict.
As I’ve said in different forums – access is good for the fans. It allows me to share the stories of the players with you. When I’ve written stories about all-Mountain West player who barely played football in high school or explaining the challenge of a player moving from offense to defense and being expected to start right away, those stories can’t be adequately done without access to players. The better the access, the more interesting coverage I can provide to Falcons fans. So, it ends up being a win-win that Air Force didn’t stick with this policy more than one day.
can you give us an update on Jared Jones?
Stay on script Frank. If you get off it, you will lose access again I suspect. For example, if you want to know something about the five guys who are no longer on the team, ask Troy or AFA Athletic Department people, NOT other players!
With all due respect, I don’t “stay on script” or rely on AFA or certain people at AFA as my sole source of information. Ask Mark Clark. I’d gladly lose access before I did that.
Frank, you are doing a great job with difficult circumstances, The graduate community should thank you for a job well done,
WAAAAAAAAHHHHH……don’t be a dick and you won’t loose acess.
I believe “you won’t loose access” is my favorite moment on this beat. That’s perfect.
I hope you don’t sincerely rely on SID Troy Garnhart as a “point of access” at AFA.
He needs to be replaced ASAP for this program to ever be taken seriously as a D-1 program in all sports.
He is MIA much more often than not.
