A success? A failure? Somewhere between the two?
After the most tumultuous offseason in the program’s history, Air Force managed six victories.
But those six victories were not especially impressive.
Are you satistfied?
Let me know.

Let me know.
The Falcons are 17-point underdogs today against Fresno State, and that line seems a bit harsh for a team that nearly upset Michigan at The Big House.
Do the Falcons have a chance today?
Let me know what you think.
The Falcons have earned six wins this season, but let’s take a look at the six wins. Air Force’s victims have lost 46 of 66 games. One of those victims – Idaho State – is 1-10 and has allowed 50 or more points eight times. (Idaho State held Air Force to 49 points.)
The Falcons are playing in the Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth Dec. 29.
Is this a bowl-worthy team?
Let me know your thoughts.
Must say, I am surprised. Falcons have only 94 yards on the ground, at an average of 3.4 yards per carry, against one of the worst rush defenses in college football.
It’s 7-7 with 2:01 left in first half at Falcon Stadium.
I know; it’s almost always beautiful in San Diego. But forecast had been for rainy day.
The Falcons are 71/2 point underdogs, but this Air Force team plays at its best when the odds are against it.
SDSU is on a five-game winning streak, but barely defeated Nevada and Boise State. There’s reason for the Falcons to be optimistic.
And reason for the Falcons to be worried. SDSU clobbered Army, 42-7, earlier this season while stifling the Black Knights rushing attack.
The Falcons are 4-1 against Mountain West opponents.
And they’re 0-2 against Navy and Army.
The Black Knights pulverized the Falcons, 41-21, on Saturday.
What do the defeats to Navy and Army say about the strength of the Mountain West?
This is – and I think this is obvious – a down year for the conference. There’s not a team in the national top 25.
How weak is the conference this season?
Let me know what you think.
Was this the worst performance of the Troy Calhoun era?
(I’d say yes.)
Army played a superb game, but Falcons looked confused.
Against a quality opponent, I mean. Not talking about the Idaho States of the world.
Air Force’s offense utterly dominated Nevada’s defense. Made the Wolf Pack look helpless. If not for two lost fumbles, the Falcons might have scored 62 points.
When was the last time the Falcons offense looked this mighty?
Looking forward to reading your answers.
Air Force leads Nevada, 31-21, at halftime at Falcon Stadium.
Air Force scored on its first drive. Parker Herrington’s 45-yard field goal gave the Falcons a 3-0 lead.
After a fumble by Air Force quarterback Connor Dietz, Nevada pushed into the lead with a 1-yard run by quarterback Cody Fajardo.
Air Force answered with a 75-yard drive. Fullback Mike DeWitt went the final 8 yards for the touchdown.
Nevada had only 42 yards of total offense in the first quarter. Stefphon Jefferson, the nation’s leading rusher, was held to 15 yards on seven carries.
Air Force pushed its lead to 17-7 on a 46-yard pass from Dietz to Dontae Strickland. Nevada answerd with a 3-yard run by Fajardo, cutting the lead to 17-14.
Stickland scored his second touchdown, this one on a 12-yard run, to push Air Force to a 24-14 lead.

Air Force jumped to a 31-21 lead with a 29-yard touchdown pass from Dietz to Marc Hendricks.
Air Force collected 384 yards total offense in the first half with 261 yards rushing. The Falcons already have 22 first downs.
Did not see Cody Getz in uniform as Air Force warmed up for Friday night’s game against Nevada.
An Air Force source just told me he does not expect Getz to suit up for the game.
Getz gained 887 yards in Air Force’s first five games and was one of the feel-good stories of the college football season.
But he injured his left ankle at Wyoming and then re-injured his ankle on Air Force’s first play from scrimmage last week against New Mexico.
